More cases are reported that vulnerable babies have died of fentanyl overdose due to their parents’ addiction. On 23 May, a mother was charged with involuntary manslaughter after a 4-month-old baby died of fentanyl toxicity. She was addicted to fentanyl and heroin. Two weeks ago, there was another case, a 17-month-old died at home from a fentanyl overdose. The mother in California was charged with negligence, causing the toddler to die. How the American parents get the fentanyl so easily?
《 Financial Times 》 reported on 26 May, the blockchain analytics firm Elliptic published a study linking cryptocurrencies with the spread of fentanyl, and the leading cause of death for 18- to 45-year-olds in the US. Most fentanyl trafficked into the US is manufactured using chemical ingredients imported from Chinese suppliers, and 90 per cent of these suppliers accept cryptocurrency payments.
