CCP Amends Legislative Law To Push ‘Emergency Legislation’

Recently, the Chinese Communist Party’s National People’s Congress (NPC) approved amendments to the Legislative Law which will allow a speedy passing of emergency legislations.

Drafting and amendment in laws typically require public consultation and at least two rounds of congressional session in Communist China, followed by a congressional vote before the law is enacted. The whole process take several months. The new change now grants the CCP’s NPC new powers to pass laws in just one parliament session.

But CCP has already bypassed their own rule three years ago when they imposed the so-called “”National Security Law”” in Hong Kong to stifle dissent in just one parliament session. The law, which undermined the rule of law and freedom in Hong Kong, was reviewed once only. The process completely ignored any criticism from the public.

Legal experts believe that CCP will likely misuse the new rule and push laws without adequate consultation with the public. Some analysts also believe that with the new amendment, Communist China have now officially become an authoritarian regime. Further, the ruling party can openly oppress and persecute the people.
