Unpreventable CCP Spy Devices: China-Made Cranes Across U.S. Port

According to media reports on March 5, U.S. officials said that the China-made cranes used in major ports across the United States, including several major military ports, may be spying tools of the CCP. Pentagon officials stressed that the crane manufactured by China Zhenhua Heavy Industries (ZPMC) is like a “Trojan horse”; it quickly entered the United States for its low price, but the CCP has installed sophisticated sensors in it.

By tracking the source and destination of the container, it can understand the material items imported and exported by the US government to the US military around the world. If necessary, the CCP can also use it to obstruct the logistics transportation of the US military from a long distance. Zhenhua cranes, including the built-in operating system, are usually assembled in communist China, and then they are packaged and shipped to the port of the United States. When the crane breaks down or any parts need to be fixed, the CCP will send maintenance personnel from China to the U.S. to fix it or carry out maintenance. There is very little for U.S. local technicians to know about the internal structure of the crane, the CCP has been using it for data collection unlimitedly.

At present, Zhenhua Crane has occupied a large proportion of the global port automation industry. Using the technology provided by Microsoft, it can upload equipment data and analysis data in real time. Song Hailiang, then chairman of Zhenhua, once admitted that through Zhenhua’s headquarters in Shanghai, they can monitor all the cranes in the world.
