Taiwan to Deploy Anti-UAV Radar System to Counter the CCP’s Intrusion

According to foreign media reports on February 25, the CEO of the Taiwanese company Tron Future said that the anti-UAV radar system (T.Radar Pro) is ready for large-scale deployment. In the case of increased demand, the production rate will reach 100 units per month in 2023. It is said that the T.Radar Pro uses an Active Electronically Scanned Array(AESA) radar, and the detection range of the drone can reach 5 kilometers, but the weight is only 15 kilograms, which is light, small and low-cost. The radar was designed out of the need to create a layered defense in the air to protect Taiwan from different types of CCP UAV threats.

The threat from CCP UAVs has increased in recent years. In January 2023, a CCP military magazine highlighted the critical role of unmanned systems in targeted strikes in the event of war across the Taiwan Strait. Based on increased domestic and international demand, the company is considering opening a second production plant in Taiwan for the large-scale deployment of anti-UAV radar systems in Taiwan to counter the CCP intrusion.
