As Russia is approaching the one-year anniversary of its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, U.S. President Joe Biden suddenly visited Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, to meet with President Zelenskyy. This is Biden’s first visit to Ukraine since the Russian-Ukrainian war and according to foreign media news, Biden left Kyiv to end this historic visit of about five hours.
In a joint speech with Zelenskyy, Biden mentioned that the United States will provide Ukraine with a new batch of military assistance worth half a billion dollars, including a variety of rocket systems, anti-armor weapons, and air defense radars, and will later announce a new round of sanctions against Russian individuals and companies.
At the same time, Wang Yi, a member of the Politburo Bureau of the CCP Central Committee, arrived in Moscow, the capital of Russia, and he will represent the CCP and the Russian authorities to hold talks on the Russian-Ukrainian war. Some local media revealed that the purpose of Wang Yi’s trip was to show that the CCP would play a greater role in solving the Ukrainian “issue”.
Earlier, U.S. Secretary of State Blinken said during his meeting with Wang Yi in Munich, Germany, that the United States had learned that the CCP was considering supporting Russia in attacking Ukraine and providing various lethal weapons including guns.
Blinken warned that he hoped the CCP would not act rashly and intervene in the war.
On the other hand, Ukrainian President Zelenskyy also warned the CCP not to support Russia in an exclusive interview with foreign media; otherwise, Communist China and Russia will jointly escalate the war to World War III, which is a situation that no one wants to see, and he believes that the CCP should understand this.
