U.S. Delegation Will Visit Communist China Next Week

According to foreign media reports, the U.S. State Department stated on December 10 that Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs Daniel Kritenbrink and National Security Council Senior Director for China and Taiwan Laura Rosenberger will travel to Communist China, South Korea, and Japan from December 11th to 14th. Regarding the visit to Communist China, the U.S. State Department stated that it was to follow up on President Biden’s recent G20 talks with Xi Jinping of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and prepare for Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s visit to Communist China early next year. It is understood, to prevent the tense US-China relationship from turning into a new cold war, U.S. President Biden and Communist China Xi Jinping engaged in blunt talk over Taiwan and North Korea on the sidelines of the G20 summit in mid-November. In addition, the two leaders pledged more frequent communications at amid growing disagreements over human rights, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and economic issues. According to reports, before the announcement of the US State Department’s visit to Communist China, a senior White House official commented that the Communist China wants stabilized relations with the United States in the short term as it faces both domestic economic challenges and pushback in Asian to its assertive diplomacy.
