CCP’s Long Holiday Tourism Economy Hits Serious Setback

According to a video provided by The Translation Team of NFSC on Oct. 11th, the tourism industry received 422 million visitors during the just-passed “November” holiday in mainland China, down 18.2 percent year-on-year, and the number of tourist arrivals was only 60.7 percent of the number in 2019 before the pandemic. Tourism revenue was only $40 billion, down 26.2 percent year-on-year and only 44.2 percent of 2019.

In addition, domestic tourism, previously known as “Golden Week,” was also hit hard by the strict pandemic lockdown policy in 2022. During the Mid-Autumn Festival, tourism revenue fell by about 23% year-on-year and 39% compared to 2019, while traffic during Labor Day in May fell by 62% to 100 million passengers compared to the same period in 2021.

It seems that the CCP is steering the country towards an accelerated economic recession by taking various measures to strengthen its regime.
