The communiqué states that the CCP government has no right to interfere in Taipei’s political interactions with other countries, which will make their efforts to ensure the legal status of Taiwanese representative offices worldwide and facilitate Taiwan’s membership in international organizations and participation in international affairs. Meanwhile, IPAC called on countries to take the necessary political and economic measures to prevent the escalation of tensions and ensure the stability across the Taiwan Strait.

IPAC also encouraged Taiwan to strengthen economic cooperation and trade with its member states. In addition, the communiqué expressed great concerns about human rights issues in Xinjiang, Tibet, and Hong Kong. IPAC, an international cross-party coalition of more than 200 legislators from the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Japan, and other democratic countries, was founded on June 4, 2020, aiming to respond to the CCP on issues like global trade, security, and human rights.

More than 60 lawmakers from 30 countries reportedly attended the summit.
