The UN To Vote On Xinjiang Persecution

On Sep. 13th, according to a report, Communist China would face its first condemnation by the United Nations (UN) Human Rights Council due to a detailed U.N. report on the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)’s mass detention and persecution in Xinjiang. The U.N. Human Rights Council is having one-month meetings in Geneva and will discuss a resolution formally denouncing CCP’s actions against Uyghur Muslim minority members in northwestern China. This meeting aims to increase pressure on the Western governments to impose more sanctions on the CCP.

 The U.S. ambassador to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield has been pushing for actions to hold Communist China accountable for its criminal deeds as soon as possible. The council collected the evidence and is ready to be presented to the International Court of Justice. More than 1 million Uyghurs have reportedly been put into CCP-controlled re-education camps. Meanwhile, former UN Human Rights Commissioner, Michelle Bachelet, provided a credible report on CCP’s crimes against humanity two weeks ago. In addition, CCP faces economic sanctions imposed on its exports produced in Xinjiang. It is reported that the European Union was planning to ban products made with forced labor and follow American and Canadian measures under the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act.
