UK government blocks Communist China’s Acquisition of Electronics Design Company Pulsic

It was reported on August 18th that the UK government has blocked Hong Kong-based Super Orange from acquiring British electronics design company Pulsic, citing the security risk posed by Communist China.

A statement released by the UK government said Business Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng believed that the final order is necessary and proportionate to mitigate the national security risk.

Pulsic is a small company in Bristol in the west of England that designs software for electronic circuits.

Liz Truss, the foreign secretary most likely to succeed Boris Johnson as British prime minister, has called for a tougher stance on Communist China and warned Beijing will face sanctions if it does not abide by international rules.

A British government report in 2021 called Communist China was ” the country with the greatest threat to the UK’s economic security”.
