British Parliament Will Visit Taiwan After Nancy Pelosi

According to a report on August 1st, the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Commons of the British Parliament plans to visit Taiwan later this year, possibly in November or December.

 The visit, originally scheduled for early this year, was postponed after a member of the delegation tested positive for Covid-19, the report said. Tom Tugendhat, chairman of the House of Commons Foreign Affairs Committee, is expected to lead the trip.

 Immediately afterwards, the Chinese ambassador to the UK, Zheng Zeguang, held a press conference for Chinese and foreign journalists, claiming that UK visiting Taiwan is an interference in Communist China’s internal affairs that will lead to severe consequences in Sino-UK relations, and issued a warning threatening the British MPs who planned to visit Taiwan.

 In response to the possible visit of the British delegation, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Landsbergis said ecstatically that Pelosi has further opened the doors to Taiwan for many other countries, and more people in Western countries will soon follow suit after Pelosi and walk through the doors.

 On November 18th, 2021, Lithuania allowed the establishment of a representative office in Taiwan. On December 16th, 2021, the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs recalled the acting Chargé d’Affaires in China.

 Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan opened the door for conscientious dignitaries from all over the world. It has become a clarion call for a war against the dictatorship of the Chinese Communist Party, and has also started a geopolitical situation with Taiwan as a “check-in place”.
