U.S. is considering designating Russia as supporter of terrorism

According to Ukrinform, Bridget Brink, the U.S. ambassador to Ukraine, said in an interview with Radio Liberty that the United States is seriously considering to declare Russia a national supporter of terrorism.

Bridget Brink noted that this issue needs to be carefully analyzed in accordance with American law, and that U.S. will keep holding Russia accountable for its actions in Ukraine.

Brink pointed out that the United States, together with partners and allies around the world, has imposed wide-ranging and in-depth sanctions, which is “unprecedented”, and will keep it up in the future. She stressed that international financial institutions have financially cut off Russia and banned it from paying off its public debts using its funds in the central bank that has been frozen.

Washington used all possible means applicable to any nation supporting terrorism, said the ambassador. However, the issue of declaring such designations should also be taken seriously.

According to Ukrinform, Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, supported Ukraine to call for Congress to recognize Russia as a nation supporter of terrorism and called Putin a coward.
