Chinese Communist Party Protests Taiwan’s Vice President Attending Abe’s Memorial

The CCP Embassy in Japan has lodged a formal protest with the Japanese government over Taiwan Vice President Lai Ching-te’s attendance at the memorial of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, the CCP Foreign Ministry announced on July 12.

CCP Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said at a regular press conference that Taiwan is a part of the China (Communist) Republic and “there is no such thing as a vice president.” He said that “after the assassination of former Prime Minister Abe, the Taiwanese authorities used the opportunity to carry out political manipulation” and that “such a strategy will not succeed.

Comment: After the former Prime Minister Abe was assassinated, dignitaries from various countries and former friends of Prime Minister Abe went to Japan to offer their condolences. In contrast, during the “carnival” in Communist China, the leaders’ fake condolences fully conveyed the CCP’s attitude to the Japanese government.

The CCP protested to the Japanese government again at this time about the Taiwan Vice President’s visit to Japan to condole with former Prime Minister Abe, which is really a shame. There goes the so-called great power’s self-confidence.

The Japanese government has not responded to this, and Japan-China relations will never return to what they were before. With the assassination of Prime Minister Abe and the victory of the LDP in the Senate election, it is basically certain that Japan will amend its constitution and become a normal country. The time has come for the Japan-Taiwan alliance to confront the CCP.
