According to multiple media reports on July 7th, the U.S. Ambassador to Communist China Nicholas Burns said the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has censored U.S. Ambassador to China’s posts on WeChat and Weibo regarding White House and State Department statements about Hong Kong, Ukraine and NATO summits.
A screenshot provided by Ambassador Burns, which was deleted by the CCP, showed the statement made by Secretary of State Antony Blinken and the US National Security Council spokesman Adrienne Watson on the 25th anniversary of the handover of Hong Kong sovereignty. Beside that, an overview of the NATO summit which was not likely to be regarded as content that touched sensitive nerves of the CCP authorities.
Burns appealed to the Beijing government to allow the Chinese people to see what the American leader has to say, just as the American people can hear the Chinese leader.
The CCP opposes and fears any voices against it. When a problem arises, it’s not to solve the problem first, but to “take care” of the person who raised the question or delete the post to deceive everyone, and this is what the CCP has always done.
