TikTok concedes collecting U.S. consumer private data

On July 1, local time,TikTok’s parent company ByteDance Ltd said certain employees outside the U.S. can access information from American users.

Previously, U.S. senators had disclosed a ByteDance meeting recording, which clearly showed that ByteDance employees outside the U.S. can freely access American users’ information. The senators believed that this posed a great threat to the national security of the United States. TikTok utilizes video technology such as faces, voiceprints, search and viewing records, etc. to monitor every move of U.S. residents.

TikTok concedes to having access to U.S. consumer’s data, which U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn believes concerns about the CCP’s influence in the company are well-founded, TikTok should have come clean since the very beginning, but every time it’s trying to withhold some important information. All U.S. citizens have right to know if CCP regime is collecting their private information.

TikTok is still playing with words and trying to deny none of these freely accessible American users data is shared with the CCP government, and it should be obvious that it is a blatant lie.
