According to a report on June 23rd, why is NATO so anxious to invite several countries around Russia to join NATO as soon as possible, regardless of the geopolitical consequences? Maybe because its war in Ukraine wasn’t going so well, or is it deliberately trying to create more confrontation? In either case, NATO’s performance shows there is something unknown to the outside world.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg urged the applications for Sweden and Finland to be approved as soon as possible, while U.S. Department of Defense officials asked the U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations to agree to the applications as soon as possible.
The odds of conflict between NATO members and Russia are increasing, because NATO fears that if Ukraine fails, new war could happen. Russia is advancing on the eastern and southern Ukrainian, while Russia has yet to conduct large-scale attacks on some Ukrainian infrastructure and power systems. These intensified NATO activities have the potential to spur further Russian action in the region, and if Ukraine falls, the Westerners will be angered and lead to a bigger war.
