US proposes to allocate $450 million in aid to Ukraine’s military in 2023 budget

The US House Committee on Armed Services has proposed $450 million in aid to Ukraine in its draft military budget bill for fiscal year of 2023. The budget would allocate $450 million to help Ukraine’s armed forces, which is $150 million more than the White House requested.

The bill also includes provision of replenishment of military materiel that has now entered Ukrainian allies but has not yet arrived in Ukraine, as well as provision related to humanitarian assistance for the demining of Ukrainian territory.

In addition, the United States Department of Defense must report to Congress on a quarterly basis the operating rules of how it replenishes and transfers the military supplies to Ukraine’s arsenal by the United States, or its allies, or related partners.
