TikTok Chinese Employees Repeatedly Accessed TikTok U.S. Users’ data

On June 17th, a recording of an internal ByteDance meeting was leaked, which confirmed that the CCP is spying on the privacy of American users.

It is reported that TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance, located in Communist China, has more than 80 existing recordings from ByteDance’s internal meetings, dozens of which contain 14 statements from 9 engineers. The statements revealed that CCP’s engineers of ByteDance can randomly access to non-public user data in the United States from at least September 2021 to January 2022. In the recording, it is indicated that an engineer of Communist China, who is the chief administrator, has access to all data. In addition, a member of the trust and security department said there is no privacy in Communist China and everything is transparent.

ByteDance does not admit to violating the privacy of U.S. users and claims to have been establishing a data security management department. Previously, the Trump administration had forced ByteDance to sell TikTok and banned it because direct links between ByteDance and CCP’s officials could pose a risk to U.S. national security, but it was prevented.
