“Zero-Covid” Enforced Stubbornly, Common Chinese’s Livelihood Falters

On June 20, Jilin City in Northeast China suspended all road passenger transport and urban public passenger transport from June 20 to June 22, because a worker in Jilin Shuangling Food Factory had a positive PCR test result. During the same period, PCR testing of all employees was carried out in the urban area. People worried that the city would be locked down. Because of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)’s unreasonable policy and enforcement, people could not understand, that why the government shut down the entire city for one positive case? If somebody forged a positive case, the city can be willingly shut down, which is totally lunatic.

Also in the Northeast China, pandemic policy caused chaos in Dandong, Liaoning Province. Since another outbreak of the pandemic earlier this year, Dandong has experienced several shutdowns. Despite small number of confirmed cases, Dandong has been one of the cities in Communist China enforcing the most stringent and long-lasting lockdown measures, including a temporary ban on food delivery.

However, the 60-day lockdown did not help control the virus. No findings on the source of infection, supplies are extremely scarce, and delivery service and transportation have been blocked for three months, people have nothing but suffering. While Western countries are racing to remove mandatory COVID restrictions, the CCP does not care about people’s suffering. The officials only care about their position and titles, and monotonously enforce COVID restrictions assigned by their superior. As for whether business can be opened or just shut down, the officials do not care. By enforcing “Zero-Covid” stubbornly, cities will be shut down merely because of one or two cases. This is the new normal in Communist China.
