US and Allies to Curb Dependence on CCP for Critical Mineral

The U.S. Department of State recently announced that the U.S. has established a mineral security partnership with major partner countries to ensure the security of the supply chain of key minerals such as rare earths and lithium to counter the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

Apart from this, U.S. military experts have taken measures to expand the supply of antimony, a key mineral for war, thereby reducing dependence on the CCP.

Due to the widespread spread of the CCP virus, it has affected the international supply of rare earths. As a result, the United States, Japan, the European Union and other countries generally realize that relying on Communist China’s mineral resources, or even using it as the only source of supply, is an uncontrollable risk, and even is a menace to national security.

With regards to this, the U.S. Department of State announced on June 14th that the U.S., Canada and other allies had formed a new partnership aimed at securing supply chains amid rising global demand for key minerals such as rare earths and lithium.

The countries or organizations involved in this mineral security partnership are Australia, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Japan, South Korea, Sweden, the United Kingdom, the United States and the European Commission.

In this regard, the White House said that these key minerals, including rare earths, lithium and cobalt are key materials for the production of clean energy technology products such as batteries, electric vehicles, wind turbines, and solar panels.
