U.S. Discusses With More Than 50 Countries on Arms Aid to Ukraine

Defense ministers from dozens of countries in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and other regions met on June 15th at a conference gathered by the United States to discuss arms shipments to Ukraine.

As we know, the meeting in Brussels was initiated by U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and the participants included NATO officials and representatives of Finland, Sweden and SouthEast Asian countries with nearly 50 countries to discuss assistance to Ukraine for the third time.

As the Russia-Ukraine war rages on, Ukraine stated on June 15th that it now urgently needs armaments such as 1,000 howitzers, 500 tactical vehicles and 1,000 drones. This comes after Western countries promised to provide Ukraine with NATO-standard weapons, including advanced U.S.-made rockets. But it takes time to deploy such arms.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said during the meeting that the allies will continue to provide Ukraine with heavy weapons and long-range rocket systems, and will agree on a new batch of arms for Ukraine. Just these matters will take time and work together.
