UK Follows US in Providing Rocket Systems to Ukraine

Following U.S. President Joe Biden on May 31 to provide Ukraine with the M142 “HIMARS” high mobility multiple rocket system, British Defence Secretary Ben Wallace announced on June 1 that Britain would provide Ukraine with the M270 multiple rocket system to assist the Ukrainian army in defending against Russian invasion. According to a statement released by the British Foreign Office, Britain will provide Ukraine with the M270 multiple-launch rocket system, which can be attacked at 80 kilometers.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson held talks with Biden on the morning of June 1 about transferring the U.S.-made M270 multiple-launch rocket system, the statement said. That will be followed by in-depth discussions between British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss and Secretary of State Anthony Blinken on the morning of June 2. British Defence Secretary Wallace said that as Russia’s war strategy changes, so will Britain’s support for Ukraine.

Britain will be on hand with Ukraine to provide the heroic Ukrainian army with the heavy weapons needed to defend the country from the brutality of Russian artillery fire.
