The Quad Will Set Up Frameworks To Counter The CCP

On May 23, it was reported that, after the first Quadrilateral Security Dialogue (Quad) Summit held in Washington in September 2021, Japan, the United States, Australia and India are about to start another meeting in Tokyo, in which the four countries will discuss issues such as establishing frameworks to compete with the CCP in various sectors.

Sources show that the CCP-controlled firms such as Huawei hold an overwhelming share of the telecommunications equipment market, so Quad leaders will form a public-private dialogue on the latest 5G and 6G networks and agree on efforts to diversify 5G operators and improve interoperability and safety. Meanwhile, the four countries are ready to cooperate in the high-tech and economic fields.

Earlier, the United States passed legislation in December 2021 to ban imports from Communist China’s Xinjiang region over concerns about forced labor. At the summit, the U.S., Japan, Australia, and India will further launch common principles on supply chains that are open and respect human rights as conditions for procurement. In addition, the four countries will draw up common principles to build supply chains for semiconductors and other products that do not depend on the CCP.

Another public-private dialogue will concern biotechnology. The Quad intends to strengthen cooperation in the development of biotechnology by utilizing quantum computing.
