First CCP Virus Victim Receives HK$2 Million As Compensation In HK

On May 18th, an indemnity fund set up by the Hong Kong government to compensate those suffering from adverse reactions to CCP virus vaccinations paid out HK$2 million for the first time in a case of post-vaccine death. It is learnt that the case involved a 66-year-old woman who passed away 16 days after receiving her first dose of CCP virus vaccine last December, and the autopsy showed that the cause of death was myocarditis. The expert committee determined that her death was linked to vaccination in terms of time frame, but they concluded that the causal relationship between the death and vaccination was indeterminate.

In 2021, the Hong Kong government established a HK$1 billion indemnity fund for post-jab injury to provide financial support to anyone who experienced unexpected serious adverse events resulting from receiving CCP virus jabs. According to Hong Kong Food and Health Bureau’s data, as of April 23rd, the indemnity fund had received 843 claim applications, 551 of which had been assessed by the expert committee and 328 of which were ruled as indeterminate or related to inoculation. So far, the fund has approved a total of 242 claim applications, and this was the first case in which the authorities granted HK$2 million in compensation to the family of post-vaccine death.
