Japanese Media Reveals the Difficulties of Living in Shanghai

In a Japan’s TV interview on April 24, a Japanese media shared the difficulties of living in Shanghai which has been under hard lockdown.

In addition to the previously reported food shortages for a family of five and the lack of diapers for the baby, Japanese Shanghai expat also said that it was basically impossible to make any successful online orders as all items were sold out in only two minutes after its start every morning.

Despite the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)’s brutal measures without respecting human lives during the Shanghai shutdown, many kind-hearted civilians have volunteered to provide material assistance to the elderly or low-income people. But this is only a drop in the bucket. The volunteers interviewed told the Japanese media that they are now receiving messages from people asking for help every minute and have seen many people on the verge of starvation. The CCP then issued an “Open Letter to All CCP Members,” asking party members to remove negative information from the Internet as soon as they found it unfavorable to the CCP. This made it more difficult to access information about people in need and therefore unable to offer help.

Observers point out that although the ordinary people want to help themselves, the CCP is imposing obstacles with heavy-handed tactics, which just demonstrates that the CCP does not represent the Chinese people and that they are the enemy of the Chinese people.
