Xi Jinping Blames US For Containing The Chinese Communist Party (CCP)

This Monday (March 6th), the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)’s leader Xi Jinping said he will take a harder stance against “America’s prevention against the rise of CCP”. Xi’s speech was blunt. He said “Western countries led by the US have implemented all-around containment, encirclement and suppression of Communist China, which has brought unprecedented severe challenges to our country’s development”.

This is the first time that Xi spoke publicly to point to the US as an important threat to the development of Communist China. Soon after, the CCP’s new foreign minister Qin Gang also reinforced Xi’s attitude. Xi’s attitude may be preferred by nationalist audience in Communist China, but it is not good for a stable relationship between the CCP and western countries.

Beijing’s propaganda outlet “People’s Daily” placed a report of “Xi accusing the US” on its front page. Meanwhile, another CCP’s propaganda media Xinhua News Agency ignored it from its English version. It shows that Xi was speaking to a domestic audience in Communist China, hoping to convince Chinese people that he is protecting their interests through beating the nationalist drum.

However, some scholars said the CCP realised their relationship with the Western world will be in trouble or even reach the end. The Communist dictatorship has to prepare for competition and confrontation against the US.
