Apple Blocks ChatGPT Email App Over AI Concern

Recently, Bluemail, a free email app, has been updated by integrating OpenAI’s ChatGPT function, which allows users to generate emails based on previous emails and calendar data. However, the app update was rejected by Apple, and users can still use the old version of Bluemail without ChatGPT features. According to an email from Apple, the app had been blocked because the use of AI generation tools may produce contents that are not appropriate for younger audiences. Now Bluemail developer is left with options of either upping its lower age restriction to 17 or above, or filtering the contents displayed in the file. However, Bluemail criticized the requirement for being unfair because the same 17-plus age restriction does not apply to other apps on the App Store using similar technology.
