Infectious Diseases Spread In mainland China’s Kindergartens

As Communist China went through a massive outbreak of COVID, kindergartens in Beijing, Shanghai, and Zhejiang province saw a huge surge in fever and other symptoms in their young children. On February 20th, it was reported that in a kindergarten in the western part of Beijing, many children had fevers that started over the weekend, and the school’s superior department requested that all the classes stop attending school, and carry out all school activities via online platforms until next week, with an aim to contain the spread. People familiar with the matter said that the infectious disease is caused by the Influenza A virus. On February 19th, in a kindergarten in Hangzhou City, 10 children tested positive for COVID, and the classes were suspended for 4 days. Similarly, 15 students at a primary school showed symptoms of fever, coughing, and sore throat. Local media said that it is due to the flu. Meanwhile, in Shanghai and Xi’an City, it was reported that kindergartens were suspended due to similar outbreaks. According to the official Chinese data, the flu-positive rate in the Chinese population saw an increase, together with other common infectious diseases. Some believe that it could be a sign of a new COVID outbreak in China or a side effect of the vaccine.
