Australia Mocks CCP’s ‘Crawling Back’ for Coal

According to foreign media reports, the news website (News.com.au) owned by media mogul Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp revealed that Communist China had recently returned to buy Australian coal. However, a listed Australian company rejected it and sold the coal to Taiwan. According to the report, mining company New Hope Corporation listed on the Australian Stock Exchange confirmed that several Communist Chinese buyers had contacted them in the past month, hoping to buy their coal, after two years of Communist China’s economic bullying against Australia. The spokesman of New Hope said though the number of inquiries from Communist Chinese buyers had increased significantly, the group’s current production remains fully contracted to the existing customers, including long-term international customers in Japan and Taiwan. In a mocking tone, the report said that in an embarrassing time for Communist China, the Australian miner is reluctant to supply coal to them and instead sold their coal to other places, including “the CCP’s enemy, Taiwan.” More than two-thirds of China’s electricity comes from coal-fired plants. During the two years of the CCP shadow banning Australian coal designed to inflict economic pain on Australia, Chinese buyers have been buying Australian coal through a third party at a premium price which the Australian Strategic Policy Institute estimated to be an additional US$2 billion (A$2.9 billion) a week.
