Chairman Of Select Committee On Strategic Competition Between U.S. And Communist China: CCP Is A Threat To All Americans

According to a foreign media report, on January 10th, the U.S. House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly to approve the establishment of the “Select Committee on U.S.-CCP Strategic Competition.” The committee will be chaired by Republican Rep. Mike Gallagher. In the following speech, Gallagher said that the CCP overtakes the Cold War Soviet Union and becomes the greatest and most urgent threat to Americans.

He said that Communist China is the only country with both the intent to reshape the international order and increase economic, diplomatic, military, and technological power to achieve the goal. Due to its aggression, economic power, and America’s unique economic entanglement with it, the CCP represents a great test for American diplomacy. Its aggression is not only limited to Taiwan, the South China Sea, Hong Kong, Xinjiang, and the U.S., it is everywhere.

Xi’s regime stole American intellectual property, technology, and industrial capacity, undermining the American economy and good-paying jobs. Meanwhile, thousands of Americans are poisoned each year by Fentanyl manufactured by the CCP and distributed through a complex CCP money laundering network. The CCP poses a threat to all Americans.

Gallagher emphasized that all topics will be fully implemented if both parties work closely. At every step of the way, Washington must make sure to distinguish the CCP and the Chinese people. He revealed in a media interview that the official list of members of the committee will be announced next week at the latest, and the first hearing is likely to be held in early or mid-February, and everyone cannot wait to put it into action.
