Trial Of Liu Yanping In Bribery Case Opens

On November 17, a local court in Changchun, Jilin Province, opened the first trial of the bribery case of Liu Yanping, a former member of the CCP Committee of the Ministry of State Security and former team leader of the operational team of the CCP’s Central Committee for Discipline Inspection and Communist China’s National Supervisory Commission in the Ministry of State Security. Liu was investigated earlier in March and was subsequently removed from his official post within the CCP in September. According to the charges, from 2001 to 2022, Liu Yanping has leveraged his public positions as deputy director of the Security Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security, member of the CCP Committee of the Ministry of State Security to provide back-door assistance to entities and individuals in business operation and legal cases. Liu was also charged for bribery for illegally accepting properties worth more than 33 million US Dollars.
