Iran Admits To Supplying Drones To Russia

On November 5, Iran acknowledged for the first time that it had supplied drones to Moscow but claimed they sent them before Russia invaded Ukraine. Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian said that Iran had supplied Russia with a few Drones months before Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24 but denied supply continues.

In addition, Amirabdollahian refused reports that Iran was sending missiles to Russia. In recent weeks, Ukraine has reported an increasing number of attacks on civilian infrastructure, particularly power stations and dams, targeted with Iranian-made Shahed-136 drones. Moscow says it did not use Iranian-made drones to attack Ukraine. Last month, the European Union imposed new sanctions on Iran’s delivery of drones to Russia. Britain also imposed sanctions on three members of the Iranian military and a defense manufacturer.
