US, Japan And S. Korea Joined To Discuss North Korea’s Nuclear Threats

According to South Korean media on Oct 21st, South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Kim Seung-kyum, along with American and Japanese counterparts, Gen. Mark Milley and Gen. Yamazaki Koji held a trilateral meeting at Pentagon on Oct 20th. U.S. Indo-Pacific Command commander John C. Aquilino and top commander of the U.S. Forces Korea attended the meeting as well.

 The meeting discussed North Korea’s recent missile activities, nuclear program development and other regional security challenges. The participants also talked about the consistent efforts to denuclearize the Korean Peninsula. General Milley reaffirmed Washington’s unwavering commitment to defend Japan and the Republic of Korea.

 Meanwhile, the three leaders emphasized the importance of bilateral, trilateral and multilateral effective security cooperation to promote peace and stability of the Korean Peninsula and the region.
