Pompeo: Chinese Subjected to CCP Thuggish governing and Surveillance

Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said in his third ” A Message to the Chinese People ” video, released on Oct. 18th, that the U.S.-China relationship is much longer than the existence of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and that the CCP régime is the “ultimate cause” of the deterioration of U.S.-China relations.

Pompeo said that during his 1,000 days at the State Department, the U.S. has woken the free world to confront the challenges of the CCP. “The challenge is to deal with the threat to the free world posed by the Chinese Communist Party, who is also repressing the Chinese people.”, he said.

Perhaps it has taken the U.S. too long to realize “the red warning signs of the CCP” due to their optimism and nativity, he said. In recent time, the U.S. established a relation with the Communist régime when President Nixon visited Beijing in 1972. But, in reality, as early as 1861, President Abraham Lincoln had sent an American minister to China (during the Qing Dynasty) namely Anson Burlingame, who was well liked by the Chinese and American people on both sides of the Pacific.

“However, today CCP steals American jobs and hundreds of millions of dollars (worth of intellectual property and technology) every year, plus spreading propaganda and lies that demonize America,” Pompeo said. “CCP spies on us through TikTok, Huawei, and other technology companies. It has undertaken the largest peacetime military buildup in history. It has also tried to cover up the COVID-19 pandemic.”

He concluded that, “The Chinese people live under the world’s most severely surveillance and censored environment and at the mercy of a thuggish government. So what went wrong? Four words: The Chinese Communist Party.”

Pompeo currently chaired the advisory board of the Hudson Institute’s “China Center”. Since September 13th, the Center has launched a series of videos featuring Pompeo himself talking to the Chinese people and exposing CCP’s governing approach which has generated widespread interests and subscriptions among the Chinese.

The first of the earlier two videos was titled “The Chinese Communist Party Does Not Represent the Chinese People” and the second was titled “The CCP Lies About Race Issues in America”. Both videos are about 3 minutes long, but they are concise and comprehensive. In particular, “CCP does not equal China” gave the CCP a severe kicking in the totalitarian governing of the Chinese people.
