NATO Formulates 10-Year Plan To Reestablish Ukrainian Defense Industry

According to media report on October 15th, NATO develops a 10-year plan to rebuild Ukraine’s armed forces and defense industry. NATO and the Ukrainian government will hold their first meeting on the plan this week.

A senior NATO official said considering Ukraine’s defense planning requirement, the plan was long committed to helping Kyiv shift away from Russian equipment to NATO-compatible equipment and consequently getting the training and equipment of Ukrainian troops closer to its western allies. Meanwhile, the plan was tantamount to deeming Ukraine as a member state of NATO by default and sought to rebuild its defense industry.

In Brussels last Wednesday, NATO allies reportedly held the sixth meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, which is comprised of 50 nations dedicated to providing arms and supplies to Ukrainian forces. NATO countries condemned Russia’s war crimes of attacking civilians and reaffirmed their staunch commitment to military support for Ukraine.
