Russia – Ukraine War is turning to be Catastrophic

The recent events in the Russian-Ukraine war show that it’s taking a serious turn that may end up catastrophic.

Moscow’s annexation of four regions of Ukraine has turned the war in a different direction. Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed an accord for annexation and declared that Russia would never give them up and would defend them in all possible manner. However, the UN and most countries condemned the annexation by saying it would have no legal value.

Russia’s terrible war defeat leads Putin and his subordinates to threaten Ukraine with a nuclear attack. Over two decades, Putin dedicated much time and money to modernize the Russian military. But the war in Ukraine decimated the military and threatened his grip on power.

To overcome this embarrassment, Putin warned Ukraine and its allies about using nuclear weapons and said he was not bluffing. Defending his statement, Russia’s Security Council Chairman, Dmitry Medvedev, also issued a nuclear warning to add more fuel to the fire.

On the other hand, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, announced a bid to join the NATO alliance in response to Moscow’s annexation. However, NATO hasn’t given any sign of endorsing the proposal and stated it would consider it if all its members’ consent. This fuelled frustration for Moscow, and in response to the bid, Dmitry Medvedev said, “Ukraine’s NATO application is nothing but Kyiv’s request to ‘hasten the start of World War III.”
