Rumor: Henan University Students Protest for Lockdown

Videos about numerous colleges and universities in Henan showing students rallying in support of the lifting the lockdown were widely shared online on September 28th.

 A huge group of students can be seen assembled in one of the videos, where a student representative is asking the school administrator why teachers are allowed to enter and leave the building freely during the lockdown, but students would carry virus when they do so. Afterwards, all the students simultaneously yelled, “Unblock, Unblock.

 According to what is known, numerous colleges in Zhengzhou, Henan Province, have carried out long-term blockage measures in reaction to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP )’s “Zero Covid” policy, which has left students disgruntled. Henan Industry and Trade Vocational College, Henan Mechanical and Electrical Vocational College, Henan University of Finance and Economics, Henan Institute of Engineering, Zhongyuan University of Technology and other schools are among those taking part in the protest.

 Following student protests, rumors have said that some schools made a concession and temporarily lifted the blockade
