UK Mps Call For CCP Delegation To Be Banned From Queen’s Funeral

According to foreign media reports on Sep 15th, the heads of states having diplomatic relations with the UK were invited to attend the Queen Elizabeth’s funeral on Sep 19th. Some UK MPs sanctioned by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) said that the CCP has committed genocide in Xinjiang so delegation of communist China should not be invited to the Queen’s state funeral.

Last April, the House of Commons voted for a resolution, recognizing the genocide committed by CCP against Uyghurs and other ethnic minority in Xinjiang. Subsequently, Beijing imposed sanctions on some parliamentarians on the grounds of dissemination of misinformation about human rights in Xinjiang. The UK parliament took countermeasures last September to prohibit CCP’s ambassador to UK from entering the parliament.

According to the UK’s official information, invitations to the Queen’s funeral have not been sent to Syria, Russia, Venezuela, Afghanistan, Belarus and Myanmar, while only ambassador-level officials of North Korea, Iran and Nicaragua were invited to attend the funeral.

The UK foreign ministry noted party leader Xi Jinping of Communist China appeared on the invitation list, leading to the dissatisfactions of UK MPs sanctioned by CCP, who questioned why the government was unable to refuse Beijing when it was able to reject Moscow and Nay Pyi Taw. They said it was unacceptable that the representatives of CCP perpetrating genocide were treated equally with other heads of states at the queen’s funeral.

It is also learnt that Queen Elizabeth’s coffin lies in state in Westminster Hall for the public to pay their last respects. Sir Lindsay Hoyle, Speaker of the House of Commons, has declined a request of a CCP delegation to pay their respects to the Queen.
