President Tsai Receives Senator Marsha Blackburn’s Visiting Group

President Tsai Ing-wen greeted a delegation from U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn on the morning of Aug 26th. In her speech, Tsai not only called on democratic countries with the shared value to jointly safeguard regional security, but also looked forward to working with the United States to strengthen cooperation in high-tech fields such as semiconductors to cope with the economic challenges in the post-Covid era.

The president said that many people from all walks of life in the United States have come to Taiwan recently. These warm actions and firm support have once again reinforced Taiwan’s determination to defend itself. She would like to express her gratitude on behalf of the Taiwanese people.

Senator Blackburn, from Tennessee, said it is indeed important that the freedom-loving nations support Taiwan in the quest to preserve its independence and freedom. Tennessee is a major U.S. auto manufacturing town, and she said the semiconductor issue mentioned by Tsai is very important to them, especially the key and infrastructure supply chain issues.

Blackburn concluded by saying that she looks forward to continuing to help and support Taiwan as it keeps moving forward as an independent country.

After Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan, China’s military exercises and pressure did not overwhelm the island. On the contrary, the United States has increased the number of delegations to visit there. Several government delegations visited it within a month, and the relationship between the United States and Taiwan became closer.
