Chongqing Resident Refuse Take PCR Test Under Hot Weather

According to a Gettr video on August 24th, Chongqing people protest to take PCR test under high temperature.

The video shows on the evening that about a hundred people gathered in Chongqing repeatedly shouting: “No PCR Test!”. Temperature in the region reached 40 degrees Celsius for consecutive days. While, the government still forces 17 million citizens to queue up and to take PCR test outside for so-called preventing and controlling the pandemic. Those refused or failed to take the test cannot freely access to public venues. The video shows a woman fainted while queuing.

Chongqing is experiencing heat wave over 40 degrees Celsius, power shortages, and people are struggle to live. Amid such difficulties, the Chinese Government’s mandatory Covid screening has made it even worse, causing public grievances. A resident said that many people objected to take the test in such bad weather, and it might lead to a major social unrest. However, the local authority refused to response to the report.
