In 2018, the approval of the State Council of CCP on the master plan of Hebei Xiong’an New Area (2018-2035) said: the establishment of Hebei Xiong’an New Area is a major decision and deployment made by the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core to promote the coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei. This is another new area of national significance after the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone and Shanghai Pudong New Area.
