Chinese Ambassador To Australia: Taiwanese Could Be Re-Educated” If Beijing’s Takeover Was Successful”

Xiao Qian, the Chinese ambassador to Australia, unabashedly told reporters that Beijing would use any necessary force to control Taiwan and that if the reunification was successful, the Taiwanese people would receive “re-education”.

On August 10th, when questioned by reporters about the probability of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) invading Taiwan, Xiao Qian responded that Beijing would never exclude the idea of attacking Taiwan with force if necessary. This CCP ambassador added that Taiwanese people need “a process for the people in Taiwan to have a correct understanding of China.”, so if the invasion is successful, the residents will go through “re-education.”

Xiao further asserted that Taiwan is not a sovereign nation and that the matter is one of Communist China’s internal affairs. The second claim by the CCP representative is in lockstep with the one made by Chinese Ambassador to France Lu Shaye on August 7th. They both called for that the 23 million Taiwanese people would go through a brutal “re-education” echoing the one imposed on the Uighurs in Xinjiang.
