Mandiant, an American cybersecurity company, released a report on August 4 listing 72 news websites covering 11 languages, all of which were associated with the CCP’s political propaganda.
According to the report, these news sites are hosted by a Shanghai-based PR firm, Shanghai Haixun Technology Co., Ltd. These websites are controlled by the CCP’s foreign propaganda, and they publish a large number of pro-CCP information and even fake news. These websites are then widely disseminated through social media platforms to confuse the public’s judgment of the facts. The report cited websites such as “Focus Taiwan,” “Fortune Taiwan,” and “The Hongkong News,” which forged letters from U.S. congressmen and fabricated fake news about Xinjiang human rights scholars receiving funds.
Currently, Twitter has officially closed multiple Twitter accounts related to disinformation promotion.
