Gao Fu no longer serves as director of the CCDC

On the afternoon of July 26, local time, the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CCDC) held a meeting to make personnel appointments and dismissals. It announced that Gao Fu is no longer the director of the CCDC and a member of the Standing Committee of the Communist Party, and Shen Hongbing will take over the position.

Before the 20th National Congress, the Communist Party was in a bitter internal conflict. The positions of officials at all levels were also changing frequently. Gao Fu has served as deputy director of the CCDC since 2011 and was promoted to director in 2017. He spread false news about the CCP virus during the outbreak. Regarding the CCP virus vaccine, he initially advocated against getting the shot, but that advice was later refuted by CCP official media. The notice issued by the CCP stated that Gao Fu was no longer suitable for the position due to his age. Gao Fu was born in 1961, and Shen Hongbing, who took over this position, was born in 1964, also belonging to the golden age of 50-60, with only three years of difference between them.
