South Korea will be decoupling from China’s economy; other countries are expectedto fill potential gaps

The United States is in the process of dissociating itself economically from the CCP. In a similar fashion, South Korea, on July 14, officially announced complementary plans to detach itself from the Chinese economy. Korea expressed that the United States and Europe will subsequently compensate for any economic discontinuities that may occur for South Korean exports.

Decoupling means South Korea is no longer interested in working with China economically, regardless of the potential market China has to offer. Observers pointed out it will take time for South Korea to completely disentangle itself from China. South Korea’s decoupling of its economy, with that of CCP, may prove to be the correct choice. By reducing economic interaction with CCP, South Korea may have a more profitable and durable future.
