Shanghai Overreacting in Covid Control with Massive PCR Test Campaign

According to a report on July 6th, a large-scale PCR test campaign was hastily launched in Shanghai, after a merely one positive case was reported to have moved in Shanghai.

Shanghai authorities announced that more than 10 million citizens would be tested for PCR as a positive case confirmed on July 4th, who were found to be moving around the city.

On the evening of July 5th, a large-scale test was hastily launched, and what was seen in the city were dazed local people. Residents of the target area were required to undergo two tests within three days.

On July 5th, Shanghai confirmed 24 cases, highest figure since the lockdown was lifted, and authorities have taken strict measures, including locking down certain areas.
