
At the G7 summit in Germany, Ukrainian President Zelensky addressed the threat to global stability posed by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, which he hopes will end by the end of the year.
Leaders of developed countries discussed the Russian-Ukrainian war in the first meeting of the day, according to officials who asked not to be named, and also listened to Zelensky’s requests for assistance in flight defense systems, security, reconstruction funds, food exports, and defense support.
Britain announced on Sunday that it would ban imports of Russia’s biggest non-energy export, gold. The British Government said the same approach would apply to Canada, the United States and Japan, which combined would keep Russia out of the official market. This is to increase the pressure on the Russian war machine to keep the country out of war funding.
