G7 Closes with Communiqué Sharply Criticizing Beijing

According to media reports on June 29th, the recently concluded G7 joint communiqué mentioned the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) 14 times and severely criticized it. The communiqué called on the CCP to urge Russia to comply with the relevant resolutions of the UN General Assembly to abandon its maritime claims in the South China Sea. They make unprecedentedly severe criticism of the CCP’s human rights policy and to remind the CCP to abide by the UN Charter and resolve cross-strait issues peacefully.

The United States has announced the latest sanctions against five more CCP’s companies suspected of violating sanctions by providing support to Russian military and defense companies before and during the Russia-Ukraine war. This is the first time since the Russia-Ukraine war in February that the U.S. has attempted to take action against CCP’s companies for business involving Russia.

The CCP ambassador to the U.S. said that necessary measures must be taken to protect the legitimate rights and interests of state’s enterprises, and oppose the U.S. long-arm jurisdiction law and U.S. hegemony. Another CCP expert believes that the background of the Russia-Ukraine war at this G7 meeting makes these countries shift the unresolved Russia-Ukraine conflict outward and blame it on China.

This joint statement of the G7 is unprecedented, where the CCP has challenged world civilization on all fronts, including politics, economics and human rights.
