On June 19, it was reported that Russia replaced Saudi Arabia as the biggest crude oil supplier to the Communist China, where imports from Russia soared 55% year-on-year in May to a record high.
The oil refineries are profiting from the discounted supply with Russia under sanctions for its invasion of Ukraine. The figures of the General Administration of Customs of the Communist China revealed that its crude oil imports from Russia reached 8.42 million tons, including supply relics delivered through the Eastern Siberia-Pacific ocean oil pipelines, Russian ports in Europe and the Far East. The amount, equivalent to about 1.98 million barrels per day (bpd), nearly increased by 25% from 1.59 million bpd in April. The Communist China is the world’s largest importer of crude oil.
