
On June 15, the White House announced that President Biden had spoken with Ukrainian President Zelenskyy regarding the situation in the Russian-Ukrainian War that morning and promised an additional $1 billion in military assistance to Ukraine, including artillery, coastal defense weapons, and ammunition for advanced rocket systems. Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the United States has provided Ukraine with up to $5.6 billion in military assistance.
President Biden also announced another $225 million in humanitarian assistance to help Ukrainians, including safe drinking water, vital medical supplies and health care, food, shelter, and cash for families to purchase basic necessities.
